Stratonikeia-Mylasa comprises the overlapping ruins of two ancient Carian cities in southwestern Anatolia. Stratonikeia was founded in the 3rd century BCE and named after Stratonice, wife of Seleucid king Antiochus II, while Mylasa (modern Milas) was an older settlement with roots extending to the classical period.
