Avebury is a Neolithic henge and stone circle complex in Wiltshire, England that spans a larger area than the village that now sits within it. Built over roughly 1,400 years during the third millennium BC, the monument comprises an outer bank-and-ditch henge, a massive outer stone circle originally containing more than 100 sarsen stones, and two inner circles connected by stone avenues across the landscape.
