Augustodunum-Cabilonnum represents two interconnected Gallo-Roman settlements in the Saรดne Valley, approximately 50 kilometers apart. Augustodunum (Autun) was founded by Emperor Augustus around 15 BCE as a replacement for the Gallic oppidum of Bibracte, serving as a major administrative and commercial center for the Aedui tribe.
